My passion for photography was ignited by a visit to the Dean’s office at the School of Photography, Rochester Institute of Technology where I saw an original 40” x 60” B&W print of "Moonrise, Hernandez, NM" by Ansel Adams. It really was a surreal experience. Something about the richness and tonality of that image resonated deep inside of me. I knew instantly that I wanted to spend my life figuring out how to create images that moved viewers and gave them a glimpse into how I see light and form and composition in the world I photograph.

After completing service with the US Air Force, I launched into a professional career in the New York City area specializing in custom B&W printing as well as commercial and editorial photo assignments. I later transitioned into documentary work shooting assignments in Africa, Europe, Central and South America for mission, humanitarian and relief organizations.

I've earned an associates degree in Commercial Photography with a minor in Commercial Art from Middlesex College. After a stint doing photo and film (16mm) assignments on locations in West Africa and South America I went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art Photography with a minor in Ceramics from Montclair State University and eventually, a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Business Communication & Instructional Technology from the University of North Texas.

These days, my work runs the gamut of photographic and video interests for commercial, private and non-profit clients. I've continued to pursue Fine Art interests in pottery and photography and teach workshops and substitute teach at our local high school fine arts program as well as community arts organizations.

My wife Nancy and I have been together for more than 48 years. We have two grown sons, a handful of grandchildren and one great grandchild.
